Why is it that when the tax coffers get lean because over taxed small business cannot meet payroll anymore and close their doors (due to taxes, legislative meddling, and increasing regulation) our leaders cut the services that are the most important to the majority of American taxpayers?

The FIRST TARGETS FOR CUTS are painful ‘cuts’ in education and public safety (police and fire protection).  

Perhaps if our elected officials make us ‘suffer’ where it really hurts, we will be more willing and compliant to pay even more taxes to protect these necessary public services? In communities across America, the greater cuts are to these services in the local community. While the following article is ‘slanted’ against our current elected officials, I believe it has been every Administration and every political party that has contributed to this insanity. Mostly because of our own apathy.

Sometimes I think that we are supposed to go through life ‘dodging bullets’ coming at us from every direction so we won’t pay attention to what is really going on.

When people get tired of being ‘fleeced’, and as more and more Americans find that no one is going to help them and their own families (except their own families) maybe they will take a few minutes to let our elected officials know that when the private sector can no longer afford health insurance for themselves and their employees, we need to do away with health insurance for public servants in equal measure…starting with our elected officials. When the private sector can no longer afford pension plans and matching 401ks for their employees, then the public sector needs to do away with pensions as well.

After all, it is the PRIVATE SECTOR that produces ALL WEALTH in our country, the employees of the Private Sector work to provide ALL SERVICES of government.

Government produces no wealth to grow our economy, although almost half of our working population is now on the Federal, State and Local government payroll.  When there is not enough money to pay for every conceivable ‘government service’, only three government sacred cows should be left standing…education, police and fire. I eliminate Health Care because it is now 48 million working Americans who have NO HEALTH INSURANCE, although they work to pay for health insurance for the poor (who have GOVERNEMNT health insurance), and the aged (who have GOVERNMENT health insurance).

When the working class is thrown out of their jobs, and their workplaces close their doors and go into foreclosure, a government building should throw out their employees in equal measure and close as many government buildings as well.

The burden of this publically funded largess for non-producers can no longer be carried on the broken backs of the private sector working man or woman. For the millions of jobs we have lost in the private sector, we need to shut down millions of jobs in the public sector. Lest we leave this earth and this debt on the backs of our children, and our grand children, who will pay almost 90 per cent of their income to pay for those who produce no wealth in our country. Don’t believe me, take a look at the taxes we NOW pay to maintain what we have…and tell me how we are going to pay for the 97 TRILLION dollars we are already obligated through government programs and services.

If you stacked one thousand dollar bills, one on top of the other, and laid them on the road, you would have to travel about 67 miles before you would reach the end of of the one trillion dollar stack (not end to end, but stacked). It is hard to get ones mind around how much money that really is, but 97 trillion is already designed and now China and other foreign investors are asking for collateral, such as our natural resources, parks and lands…in order to loan us more money for spending from this day forward.

It is no wonder so many States are looking to secede from the Union. Their own survival, and yours, may depend upon it.

It’s all in the hands of just 545 people. See below:

I excluded all the special interests and lobbyists for a  sound reason.. They have no legal authority.  They have no  ability to coerce a senator, a congressman, or a president to do one  cotton-picking thing.   I don’t care if they offer a politician $1 million dollars in cash.  The  politician has the power to accept or reject it. No matter what  the lobbyist promises, it is the legislator’s responsibility  to determine  how he votes.

Those 545 human beings spend much of their energy  convincing you that what they did is not their fault.    They cooperate in this common con regardless of party.
What  separates a politician from a normal human being is an  excessive amount of gall.   No normal  human being would have the gall of a  Speaker, who stood up and criticized the President for creating  deficits..   The president can only propose a budget.    He cannot force the Congress to accept  it.

The Constitution, which is the supreme law of the  land, gives sole responsibility to the House of  Representatives for originating and approving appropriations and taxes.   Who is the speaker of the House?    Nancy Pelosi.  She is  the leader of the majority party.  She and  fellow House members, not the president, can approve any budget they want.  If the president vetoes it, they can pass it over his veto if  they agree  to.

It seems inconceivable to me that a nation of 300 million can  not replace 545 people who stand convicted — by present facts — of  incompetence and irresponsibility.   I can’t think of a  single domestic problem  that is not traceable directly to those 545 people.  When you fully  grasp the plain truth that 545 people exercise the power of the federal  government, then it must follow that what exists is what they want to  exist.

If the tax code is unfair, it’s because they want it  unfair.

 I recently sent this website address to everyone in my address book. One of my friends posed the above question,

This is a humbling, but passionate attempt to answer that question.

Yesterday was the Fourth of July, a day we “Americans” celebrate because soldiers died to create a Country where we sing ‘freedom reigns’. AMERICAN Soldiers (usually the youngest, strongest, most impressionable and easiest to mold among us) have been serving and sacrificing their lives to maintain and protect our ‘freedom’ of expression as found in our Constitution since our birth as a nation of free men and women.

ALL soldiers give some, and some ‘give ALL’ and for that very personal sacrifice our nation owes them honor and respect. Every single day, American families experience the loss of a loved one they entrust to the care of our Nation during their loved ones service to it. Every single day, a soldiers’ family is asked to cope with an injured soldier returning home, and to them we owe a debt of gratitude. Every single day, across the globe, a SOLDIER sacrifices being with his family and loses valuable time watching his children grow up, (for the rest of us who make no sacrifice), and for that, we owe the soldier our support and encouragement.  We may not all agree that the Wars we engage in, or the interests we protect as a nation, are worthy of the sacrifice our soldiers have made “in good faith” and that is the prerogative of every American citizen.

Every single day, it is that very ‘freedom’ of expression’ our soldiers have sacrificed their lives for; to insure the ‘freedom to disagree’ for all of us, since the very beginning.

Every single day, I believe our soldiers earn the right to memorialize their fallen comrades in any way they choose to express that remembrance.

Who among us has the right to tear down any soldier’s memorial, and who among us deserves the right to be ‘offended’ by whatever symbol a soldier chooses to express such personal loss, seek healing for his spirit, and find a peace inside him or her, because he survived combat and his comrades did not?  

In this case, the simple, but meaningful, memorial was legally erected on ‘private land’ in 1934 by soldiers returning from the horror of World War I. This land was annexed to federal lands during the tenure of Bill Clinton. It was remiss of the Clinton administration to neglect assurance to these soldiers that their memorial would stand. The ACLU, a 503c non-profit corporation, are now charging and receiving tax payer ‘attorneys fees’ (through judicial error), so they found a client in Oregon who was willing to initiate a lawsuit (free for him) for the removal of the memorial because ‘IF he traveled’ to this California desert region, and took a special eleven mile drive down a dusty road in the middle of no where to view it (which he has not done), he believed it would be offensive to him. In order to fight the ALCU lawsuit on behalf of the ‘potentially offended citizen’, our Veterans must PAY for LEGAL REPRESENTATION to try to keep the 1934 Memorial still standing in the Mojave Desert of California.

The California Supreme Court held a lower courts opinion that the ‘separation of church and state’ was violated, and they covered the memorial with a zippered bag (perhaps reminiscent of a body bag from the soldier’s point of view?) pending the decision of our Federal Supreme Court Judges. Argument at this level can cost millions, but for the potentially offended ‘Plaintiff’ the cost is nothing.

In response, the indigenous soldiers of the region removed the bag covering the memorial, so now the ‘potentially offensive memorial’ is encased in plywood so no eyes can see it. The issue now will be heard before the Federal Supreme Court and Veterans Groups across the nation are involved because that decision threatens a multitude of other memorials Veterans have erected in honor of their fallen comrades across America since we became a nation. So now begs the question;

“What is the suggested response from the average freedom-loving American citizen?”

I suggest:

G E T UP!

G    Greatness was never achieved from an easy chair or going along to get along. Get Up!

E     Educate yourself – Read the “Constitution of the United States of America” and either support our Soldiers              

            Oath to defend it with their LIVES, or learn to live in the same tyranny as most of the rest of the world. Get Up!

T    Take 5 MINUTES of your precious time and send a small check to your local Veterans Group to support this effort. Get Up!

U     Unite in our Veterans cause, (or any other cause) to fight the erosion of our Constitutional Rights by our Government. Get Up!

P     Prepare your children to accept the 97 trillion dollar debt of entitlement, greed and giveaways already before them by    

                being a more responsible parent in their education, health, and welfare because no one else is going to do it. Get Up!

And for my Christian Friends, RESOLVE to put a Cross UP on your own property for every one our Government takes DOWN!

We ARE the land of the Free and the Home of the Brave, and many died for our ‘religious freedom’ and our ‘freedom of expression’ before we were ever born. What makes us exempt from ‘standing up for what we believe in’? We ARE those people who cling to our BIBLES and our BELIEFS and our Government needs to know that we are still here, and we are ready and able to NOT go along to get along.

It is not enough that we sit on our hands, hide in the comfort of our pew buddies, serve up praise and pabulum and believe we’ve lost our ability to STAND for what we SAY we believe. Turn off the tube, get off the chat group, stop living life ‘online’, ignore Ebay, My Space, Facebook and all other foolish distractions, and begin to actually read the Word of God, cover to cover for once in your life, for yourself and your family. Get out of yourself and into Service so your friends and community can actually TELL you are a Christian. Even the Blues Brothers were able to go on a “Mission for God”, what is your Mission?    

We can ask God to continue Blessing America out loud every single day, as it should be obvious by now, that removing all reference, song, remembrance, prayer, play or symbol of God from every imaginable ‘public’ facility, emblem, coin, building, program, school, badge, seal and historical ‘middle of the desert’ memorial is not working out too well for our country or our children’s future is it?

‘If you don’t STAND for SOMETHING, you will FALL for anything’. GET UP and Claim your Victory! Plant a Cross, feed the (growing) poor, take in the widows and orphans in your own community. Support your Veterans, the Constitution of the United States of America, and Send an email AND a snail mail to your elected ‘representatives’ regarding this, and every other issue you STAND FOR, take up your Weapon, “the Word of God” so you at least know where God Stands, and simply STAND as a witness to His grace and your own reality.

First, you have to WAKE UP and then,

LOVING YOUR NEIGHBOR (soldier) is an ACTION word required of Christians 24/7 – 365 and every ‘average’ American is more than capable of getting up, getting out there, and by service and grace, bearing fruit.

Every ‘average’ American is capable of Greatness of Spirit and is able to give up a mocha or movie show now and then to help someone now suffering in a neighborhood near you, in a practical way. I am embarrassed to admit that a friend of ours with a grandbaby at their home, still mourning the recent violent death of her daughter in a vehicle accident, was without electricity for more than a month because she could not bring herself to reach out and ask for help. Her husband lost his construction job and had to scrimp together every cent they had left to pay a bankruptcy attorney to file a Chapter 13 to save their home (with enormous equity) from Trustees Sale.

No cooking, warmth, running water, or lights for more than a month, in America.

They used a generator once a day for an hour so they could put water in the bath tub to serve their hygiene needs. I asked my friend why she did not come to me for help, and she said because she did not want to ‘impose’ on anyone. I am embarrassed because I did not reveal myself as one who would love my neighbor enough to help them in such a practical way.

My own light was so dim, even my close friend could not see it. We are either self-centered or God-Centered, and we fool only ‘us’ if going to ‘church’ is the only way we express our faith, If no one can tell the difference between us as Christians and everyone else on the planet fighting for survival, then we are just withered useless dried up vines sucking up resources and bearing no fruit (of the spirit or otherwise).  

For those whom much is given, much is expected. Anyone BLESSED enough to be born in America has been ‘given’ much, and they have ‘received’ more than their share of everything the world has to offer. I think it has made us lazy and self-absorbed instead of resourceful and generous. We have established an unsustainable spirit of ‘entitlement’ rather than one of service, stewardship and we seem perfectly willing to allow our children to be placed in bondage because we are just ‘too busy’ doing nothing meaningful to anyone, even ourselves. If we love God as much as our ‘lip service’ says we do, it might be time to do what he has asked us to do.

Isn’t it well past time to turn on the light of our own spirits and reach out to find out where we can SERVE those who are suffering needlessly?  If a man asks for bread, should we give him a stone?

I hope I get an “Amen Sista” from at least one person in my address book, but if not it’s OK…

..because I am finally GETTING UP so I can STAND.

I think you are facing a ‘crossroads’ of sorts and maybe you are looking for some answers before you choose which road you want to travel.

Most people worldwide would agree that “Life is Problems”, but how we react or respond to those problems can make a big difference in how bumpy the ride is.

The stories you find here are real. The people are real, the circumstances are real and the solutions they found for themselves are real.

We welcome new stories about other people’s experience, strength and hope as they faced problems in their own lives and share how they were able to resolve them in a positive way.

Sometimes, the problems are permanent and we share how we are able to accept our reality and work through the problem so that other people who find this place might be spared anguish and confusion, and perhaps avoid some mistakes common to us all as human beings.
